Readers already have bestseller lists, ratings, reviews and endless recommendations. What those signals rarely explain is whether a particular book is right for a particular person.

Two people can love the same book for completely different reasons. We want to understand those reasons and use them to make recommendations that feel personal rather than generic.
Trust matters more than volume.
A recommendation should be considered, explainable and useful enough that you feel confident spending your time and money on it. That is why we start with three, not an endless feed.
